Robert T. Wilce Student Paper Award
This award is given to the graduate contributed paper (oral presentation) that is judged to be the best at the annual Northeast Algal Symposium. Emphasis is placed on quality of presentation, the completeness of the research, and the student's ability to handle questions regarding the his/her research.
Francis R. Trainor Poster Award (formerly Robert T. Wilce Poster Award)
This award is given to the poster judged to be the best presentation by a graduate student at the annual Northeast Algal Symposium. Emphasis is placed on quality of presentation, the completeness of the research and the student's ability to speak about the work.
President's Award
This award is given to the poster or talk judged to be the best presentation by an undergraduate student at the annual Northeast Algal Symposium. Emphasis is placed on the clarity of the presentation, the student's participation in the research, and his/her ability to speak about the work during the poster session.
TO APPLY FOR ANY OF THESE AWARDS, STUDENTS SHOULD INDICATE THEIR WISH TO PARTICIPATE IN THE COMPETITION WHEN REGISTERING FOR THE ANNUAL SYMPOSIUM.

For graduate students and post docs interested in growing their phycological libraries, NEAS is offering a competitive award to fund the purchase of a phycological volume. All graduate student and postdoctoral members of NEAS may apply. Due date this year is April 1st, 2010 Awards will be made at the meeting.
